Emu is a sweet and gentle boy!  Emu is friendly with people, gentle with children, and good with dogs of all sizes.  Emu has a good temperament and has lots of love to give!  Emu had a leg amputation and had fully recovered.  Emu can still run, hike, play and live a healthy happy life.  He is doing very well in his foster home and ready for a forever home.  Emu started some leash training and is learning at a good pace.  He is crate-trained and doing well on his housetraining.  Emu rides well in the car and can wait patiently while his foster mom runs errands.  Emu is a happy boy and will make a good family dog!

EMU’S RESCUE STORY:

Poor Emu was abandoned in the mountain.  He was rescued by a volunteer of a TNR rescue group.  The rescue has a temporary place for the dogs.  TNR groups specialize in getting stray animals spayed and the dogs are returned to their original location to live as homeless dogs.  TNR programs help with the overpopulation of unwanted animals.  The volunteer reached out to an experienced international rescue organization to help with their dogs.  The land where they kept the dog can no longer be used and they had to evacuate all dogs and return them back to the streets to live as stray dogs.  The founder of the rescue organization has over 180 dogs waiting for homes.  However, she could not bear to see them starving and suffering on the streets.  She agreed to take Emu and his buddies home and give them a chance in life.

Emu had a thorough medical checkup.  He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchip, and passed negative on his blood tests.  Please give Emu a loving home to grow up.
