Zia is a sweet and gentle pup!  Poor Zia has been through a rough start in life and can be shy with new people at first.  She loves her humans, gentle with children, and good with dogs of all sizes.  She is doing very well in her foster home and ready for her forever home.  Zia walks well on leash and enjoys her trips to the dog park.  She started some leash training and is learning at a good pace.  She is crate-trained and doing well on her housetraining.  Zia rides well in the car and can wait patiently while her foster mom runs errands.  We are looking for a committed home to continue to socialize and train her and to help her build confidence.

ZIA’s Rescue Story

Poor Zia was living on the streets as a stray dog and there are no shelter and food.  She was surviving on garbage and hid behind bushes to keep herself safe.  A volunteer for TNR (Trap / Neuter / Release) groups caught her.  TNR groups specialize in getting stray animals spayed and neutered and the dogs are returned to their original location to live as homeless dogs.  TNR programs help with the overpopulation of unwanted animals.

Zia is such a lovely girl and the volunteer was very sad to see her living on the streets.  He reached out to an experienced international rescue organization to help with some of the dogs that are scheduled to be returned back to the streets.  The founder of the rescue organization has over 150 dogs waiting for homes.  However, she could not bear to see them going back to the mountain and suffered on the streets.  She agreed to take Zia back to her home and give her a chance in life.

Zia had a thorough medical checkup.  She had been spayed, vaccinated, microchip, and passed negative on her blood tests.  Please give Zia a loving forever home where she will not be left alone again.
