Winter is a sweet and happy boy!  He is very friendly with people, gentle with children, and good with dogs of all sizes.  Winter is even tested good with cats.  Winter has been through a rough life.  It’s amazing how much he still trusts and loves humans.  He is doing very well in his foster home and ready for his forever home.  Winter started some leash training and is learning at a good pace.  He is crate-trained and doing well on his housetraining.  Winter rides well in the car and can wait patiently while his foster mom runs errands.  Winter is a good boy and will make a lovely family dog.

Winter’s Rescue Story

Poor Winter was found abandoned in a riverside park.  He was all alone starving and in poor condition.  A kind volunteer was on a walk with her 2 dogs.  It was late at night and freezing out.  She saw Winter walking around looking for food.  Poor boy must have been starving for a long time.  His skin was covered with fleas and missing so much fur.  And, one of his toes was swollen and infected.  She quickly went up to Winter and gave him some food.   Winter finished the food in seconds and went up to her wagging his tail.  She couldn’t leave without him.  Winter happily jumped onto her car.  The lady quickly called the founder of the rescue organization she volunteers with.  The founder knew it was urgent to save him.  The founder of the rescue has over 150 dogs in her home waiting for homes.  She really didn’t have space for Winter.  However, she didn’t want to see him die on the street.  The founder agrees to bring Winter back to her home.  She promised him a loving home where he will be treated with love and proper care.

Winter was rushed to the vet for a complete health checkup.  He was treated for flea bites and needed to gain weight.  Everything else is well with him.  Winter is one strong dog.
Winter adjusted the moment he arrived at his foster home.  He is doing very well and enjoying the company of all the other rescued dogs.  Winter started leash training and is socialized with big and small dogs.

Winter has been neutered, vaccinated, microchip, and passed negative on his blood tests.
Please give Winter a forever home where he will never be left behind.
