Oakie is a happy boy!  He is good with people, loves young children, and good with dogs and cats.

Oakie is a happy and playful pup!  He loves everyone he meets, good with dogs and cats.  Oakie is doing very well and ready for his own forever home.  Oakie is also very friendly with the foster family’s son.  He is now in a foster home with over 50 rescued dogs enjoying the comfort of a safe and clean home.  All the doggies learn to share everything from affection to food to toys.  Oakie started some basic obedience training and is learning at a good pace. He is crate-trained and house-trained.  Oakie is one smart boy and will make a lovely family dog.

Oakie’s Rescue Story

Poor Oakie and his brother, Oakley, were found starving on the streets.  A kind lady who lives nearby often see them begging for food when she walks her dogs.  One night she decided she must help them and brought them home.  She posted their story on Facebook and was hopeful to find them both homes.  After a few months, she got desperate and discouraged as no one had called for them.  She is 8 months old pregnant and didn’t have the time and strength to take care of them.  She reached out to an experienced rescue organization.  When the founder heard their story she knew it was urgent to save both of them.  The founder’s home is full of rescued dogs.  However, she didn’t want to see them either end up back on the streets or in an overcrowded government shelter and so immediately agreed to take them in. They were rushed to the vet for a complete healthy checkup.  Luckily, both of them are healthy and in good spirit.  Oakie is neutered, vaccinated, chipped, de-wormed, and passed negative on his blood tests.

Oakie and Oakley adjusted the moment they arrived at their foster home.  They are enjoying playing with all her rescued dogs.  They are both very lovely and greet everyone with their wagging tails.  Oakie walks well on the leash and enjoys his daily walk in the mountain area.  Please give Oakie a safe and happy home to grow up so that we can continue to save more dogs in desperate need.
